This supplemental debate was held on October 2nd, in the same room as and
shortly following the Illinois Radio Network debate, on the campus of
Millikin University, as a response to the exclusion of Rich Whitney. During
the debate, Rich Whitney responds to the same questions asked of the other
two candidates for Illinois Governor. The moderator for this supplemental
debate was Terry Martin, Executive Director of the Illinois Channel.
Whitney was excluded from the Illinois Radio Network debate, despite having
earned a place on the ballot and polling more than 7% support.
A peaceful demonstration was also held outside the Illinois Radio Network
debate, to protest the exclusion of Rich Whitney. More than 100
demonstrators participated in condemning the exclusion and calling for the
right of the public to hear all three candidates on the ballot in 2006.
