Cook County Township Committee People

by Terry Campbell last modified 2008-03-31 15:38

A township committeeperson is elected to represent each township in Cook County outside of Chicago every four years in the primary election occurring in the same year as the gubernatorial elections (2010 is next). Township committee people have been appointed to serve until the 2010 primary elections by Rich Whitney, our highest vote getter in Illinois in the 2006 elections, under the authority vested in him by the Illinois Election Code (Sec. 10-2) for the purpose of creating a "provisional party organization."
