The Illinois Green Party is calling for candidates to come forward for the 2013 consolidated elections. Thousands of offices across Illinois are up, and we’re looking for people to join the Greens who are already elected officials!
Everywhere except the City of Chicago, Illinois voters will go to the polls in April to elect city council or village board members, school board members, community college board members, township officials, and in many places, library board and park board trustees. Many of these races have very low turnout and a good number are not even contested. They are excellent opportunities for Greens to affect public policy at the local level.
Look for more information on these races in upcoming days. For questions about most races, contact Phil Huckelberry, ILGP Chair.
